A 240 Megawatt coal based Thermal Power Plant is being set up at the Garo Hills, Meghalaya. This will be the first Thermal Power Plant in the state of Meghalaya, which will bridge a huge gap in demand and supply of electric power in the North Eastern Region. This is a landmark project for the state, as it will reduce the dependency on Hydro Power from rain fed rivers on one hand and on other, it will capitalize on abundant coal reserves in the state. The company is also planning a few small Hydro Power projects in the same area to synergize the natural and human resources.

The projects will not only boost the economy of the region but will also provide ample employment opportunities for the local youth.

The Company has entered the fast growing Cement Sector with plans of setting up two Cement Plants at Meghalya with a combined capacity of 2 Million Tonnes per annum (MTPA) - one at Jaintia Hills and the other at Garo Hills in Meghalaya. Captive Power Plants of 20 MW capacity based on coal will also be set-up at both locations to meet the power requirement of cement plants.
